Biography & Qualifications
Jennie was born in Norwich. Her father was a farmer and her mother a school teacher. She has been described as coming from a highly principled family with a sense of fairness and justice. She was brought up in the county of Norfolk and was educated exclusively in state schools benefiting from a grammar school education.
After leaving school she travelled in Europe and later went to Cambridge University as a mature student to read medicine. She then worked in hospital medicine in a variety of posts as a junior doctor and left to study for an MBA in Health Service Management where she developed an interest in the law. As a result she went to Nottingham Law School and from there to the Inns of Court School of Law in London. She has been called to the Bar and has a post graduate law degree from the London School of Economics. She was an elected member of the General Medical Council from 2000 until 2003. She currently works as a Legal Professional Service Provider to overseas doctors providing a niche market for doctors facing problems with their employers and regulatory body. She is a freelance writer.
